FAQs - arcitec

Q. What is different about this shaver?
A. Consumers tell us their neck hair is the hardest area to shave especially in the curved areas of the neck, where some hairs lie flat and are more difficult to catch. The new arcitec shaver has a Flex & Pivot Action with three independently flexing heads that swivel with a full range of motion. This ensures optimum skin contact in curved areas, to catch even the most problematic neck hair.

Q. What impact does this have on my shaving experience?
This means your shave will be perfectly close, even in the hard to reach places. In addition, the design is completely different. The new design is ultra slim, because the central drive system has changed from a thick central shaft to a slimmer shaft, which frees up the flexibility to have smaller shaving heads.

Q. What is the shaver made of?
A. The high end model RQ1095, includes Carbon Fiber in molded layers on the side, these are the panels that look like the are woven, it also has a mirrored dark silver chrome display lens, with a brushed stainless steel housing.

Q. What are the shaving blades made out of?
A. A shaver’s blades play a key role in determining the quality of the shaving experience, they should be sharp and the material should not cause irritation. The blades in Philips shaving heads are made from Sandvik Nanoflex™, a unique ultra-strong stainless steel that meets the same high requirements as the steel used in medical equipment. This steel combines ultra-high strength with good formability, high resistance to corrosion, and a good surface finish. Philips shavers also incorporate self-sharpening blades, which wear in such a way that a fresh, sharp new cutting edge is formed each time, while the cap stays virtually intact. This ensures an optimal shave with long-lasting sharpness.

Q. Will this product irritate my face, if I’m a new user?
A. When it comes to shaving, comfort is very important. A good shave should be a pleasant experience without any skin irritation. With a Philips rotary shaver, the pressure of the shaving head is evenly spread over your skin – no matter how hard you push or which part of your face you’re shaving – enhancing comfort and minimizing irritation. Unlike rotary shavers, which have round, flexible shaving heads, foil shavers have a flat, horizontal foil tube (or tubes) that results in one main pressure point on the skin. This does not allow the shaver’s pressure to be evenly spread across the skin. As a result, more shaving strokes are needed.

Q. How often do you need to charge the shaver?
A. You can charge the shaver for up to one hour, when the shaver is fully charged you have a shaving time of up to 65 minutes. The shaver has a light that indicates how many minutes of shaving time you have left, so it should be very hard for you to run out of shaving time. The shaving has a charging station for the bathroom and also a travel case that means you can charge the shaver when you are out of the house too.

Q. Can you use it in the shower?
A. No, the shaver is waterproof and water resistant, but it’s not designed to be taken into the shower. We have other shavers which are designed to be taken into shower; the Moisturizing shaving system is one of these. arcitec is designed to be used anywhere outside of the shower, which means it’s perfect if you want to travel with it, shave after going to the gym, or before a meeting in the office. Q. How do you clean the shaver?
A. You can run it under the tap, which is a good quick solution. The high end model is sold with a Jet Clean system which cleans, dries and charges the shaver. It cleans using the Jet Clean solution containing glycerin, de-mineralized water and lubricants. This removes all bacteria from the shaver. The Jet Clean system automatically detects which cleaning program the shaver needs:- economy, normal or intensive. The Jet Clean system thoroughly washes away stubble and then dries the shaver, finally lubricating the blades to maintain peak performance. One bottle (10fl. oz/ 300ml) lasts for up to one month of cleaning. You can also rinse the shaver under that tap for daily use, or when you do not have the Jet Clean.
